Crime Stoppers Yukon was established in 1990. During the past seven years, Crime Stoppers Yukon has been actively assisting the RCMPolice in solving crimes in the Yukon.
Crime Stoppers uses a three-way partnership the community, the media and the police to meet its goal of assisting in the conviction of criminals, seizing of illicit substances, and the recovery of stolen property.

The media partners are the media outlets that print or broadcast the weekly tips to the community. The police partners, who benefit most from the program, supply the information that makes up the tips.
All callers providing information to Crime Stoppers Yukon can be assured complete protection of their anonymity. As well, anyone who provides information leading to the conviction of an individual or individuals, seizure of illicit substances or the retrieval of stolen property is eligible for a reward payment of up to $2000.00.

The following information on unsolved crimes in the Yukon Territory has been supplied by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Crime Stoppers pays a cash reward up to $2,000.00 for information leading to the arrest and charge of person(s) responsible for acts of crime or the recovery of drugs and/or stolen property. Individuals providing information will have their identity protected and will remain anonymous.

Sometime between March 18 and March 19, 2004 a residence at 26 Takhini Trailer Court was broken into. The residence received extensive internal damage. It is unknown if anything was stolen.

Sometime during the evening of March 14 and early morning of March 15, 2004, a locked compound at Versatile Rentals on Copper Road was entered and the intruders drove away on two 2002 purple Polaris RMK 500s.

During the evening of Sunday, February 1, 2004 Whitehorse RCMP responded to a report of a Break & Enter to the YTG Department of Justice offices located at 301 Jarvis Street. Taken during the break and enter were several Dell laptop computers, palm pilots, camcorders, projectors used for presentation purposes, several black Dell computers and miscellaneous computer accessories. Police are requesting assistance from anyone who may have seen suspicious persons/vehicles or activities in the 300 block of Jarvis and Wood Streets from 4:00 PM until midnight on February 1st, 2004.

Sometime between 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. on January 31, 2004 a very tall Caucasion male, wearing a grey touque, red sweater and blue jeans was seen leaving an apartment block at 93 Lewes Blvd with a DVD player. It was discovered a short time later that someone had broken into an apartment in this block and took a Citizen DVD player.

At approximately 9:00 p.m. on January 17, 2004 a lone caucasion male, approximately 5'10" with a blue touque and scarf, wearing a dark blue winter coat and blue jeans, entered the North Dragon Restaurant on 2nd Avenue and took an undisclosed amount of cash from the cash register.

At approximately 9:45 p.m. on January 26, 2004 a male wearing a mask and hat entered the Roadhouse Offsales and left with an undisclosed amount of beer.

At approximately 8 pm on January 8, 2004, a home on Centennial Road in Poter Creek was broken into. The residence was left in a mess and some Jewellry was taken. A young male with a Red hat and a dark jacket, as well as a young female, were seen near the residence at about the same time the break and enter was committed.

Sometime during the week of Dec 1-7th 2003, the residence of a Watson Lake Conservation Officer was broken into. Culprits stole numerous items including the Officer's duty pistol, a Smith and Wesson Model SW40 .40 cal Handgun, along with a loaded magazine of ammunition and a Service Badge. Several other items including Jewelry, Camcorder, a Nikon RA II Spotting scope were also taken.

During the night of Monday, Dec. 1 or the early morning of Tuesday, Dec. 2 vandals hit the lot of Whitehorse Motors smashing vehicle windows and vandalizing the dash and stereo areas of the vehicles interiors. Once the stereos were dislodged the vandals proceeded to smash the stereos with a 2X4 and left the debris in the vehicle or on the ground outside the vehicle.
The vandals then entered a storage tent on the lot that housed 5 antique cars and proceeded to douse them in motor oil soaking both the exterior and interior of the vehicles. While the smashed windows and broken stereos were discovered early Tuesday morning the vandalism to the antiques wasn't discovered until late Tuesday afternoon. Nothing appears to have been stolen so the sole purpose of the intrusion was to cause damage.

Sometime on October 2, 2003, near Mile 902 on the Alaska Hwy, a house was broken into and the following items were stolen: Husqvarna Chainsaw, Fuji FinePix 2600 Camera, Pentax Camera, Leatherman Knife, 60X Bausch and Lomb spotting scope, 10X50 Pentax binoculars, various jewelry (wedding ring x 2, engagement band, freshwater pearl earring and necklace set), as well as an amount of change along with 2 bottles of Crown Royal Whiskey, and Gibson's whiskey.

At approximately 1 a.m. on June 28, 2003, two male persons wearing ski masks approached parked recreational vehicles at the Watson Lake Territorial campground. The suspects were carrying clubs or bats and proceeded to smash the rear window and drivers side window of one of the vehicles. They then demanded money from the occupants. The owner of the vehicle managed to get into the drivers seat, start the vehicle and drive away. A short distance down the road the driver noted the tires on his vehicle had been slashed.
A short time after this a second R.V. was approached and similarily had its tires cut and windows smashed. In this case the suspects entered the R.V. and confronted the occupants directly. The occupants gave the suspects what money they had with them and the suspects fled the scene.
The first suspect is described as tall, with a slim build wearing dark colored clothing, a black mask and possibly a blue plaid jacket. The man was reported to speak clearly with no discerable accent. The second suspect is described as shorter, also slim, wearing dark clothing, and a dark mask. He is not believed to have spoken to any of the victims.

Sometime between September 28 and 29, a 2004 Blue 500H Sportsman Polaris Quad was stolen from a back yard on Birch Street.

Sometime between September 20 and 22, unknown persons entered a locked compound at UpNorth Adventures, 103 Strickland Street. Stolen is a 25HP Yamaha outboard boat motor and a 10 ft canoe.

Sometime during the early evening hours on October 11, 2003 a lady walking near Riverdale Super A had her purse snatched by a male wearing a white ball cap. This incident caused her to fall to the ground.

Sometime between Sept 10 and 12, 2003 a 15-foot Lakefield Cedar Stip canoe along with two paddles and two lifejackets was taken from a residence in the Takhini area. The Canoe is cedar with yellow trim and does not have any seats.

On August 9th at around 0320 hrs, Happy Valley RV on Industrial was broken into. Although it appears nothing was stolen, the doors sustained some heavy damage, and a plate glass window was damaged.

Sometime during the day and early evening of Aug 3rd a residence at mile 5.1 on the North Klondike Hwy was broken into and a substantial amount of cash was taken. A $1000 bill was included in this amount.

On the eve of Monday the 28th of July or the morning of Tuesday the 29th of July suspects stole a 2001 red Honda 450 ES quad. The quad was in new condition and it is believed that suspects drove the quad out of the front gates of Kluane Freight Lines on the Alaska Hwy.

Sometime between June 26th and 27th, persons broke into the Cee and Cee Dirt and Gravel compound located off the Alaska Hwy North. 2 loaders had windows smashed. Persons involved are believed to have been consuming alcohol and were using an ATV in the area.

Sometime between the evening of 2003-05-24 and early morning of 2003-05-26, thieves broke into Robert Mitchell Petroleum in the Industrial area (110 Galena). Thieves then made off with a safe weighing about 300 lbs, and the contents ($700-800) it contained.

Sometime during the early morning hours of April 26th, a chain linked fence was cut to the compound of Checkered Flag Recreation on Ogilvie Street. Culprits took two brand new ATV's: one is a 2003 Green Polaris 6X6 ATV, the other is a 2002 Silver Polaris 500 RMK ATV.

Sometime between 2003-03-24 and 2003-04-07 two fuel tanks were stolen from Yukon Alaska Log Homes. The tanks are described as follows: Flat red fuel tank with electric pump that would fit in a 3/4 ton truck. 1/2 oval red fuel tank with hand pump that would fit into a Toyota.

The Whitehorse RCMP are investigating the vandalism of a Light Homebuilt Aircraft which was parked in the day use area of Schwatka Lake off of Chadburn Lake Road. The aircraft was extensively damaged and the engine was stolen from it. The stolen engine is a Rotax 503 D/C DCDI with twin carbs, bearing serial number 3985544. This engine is similar to the type of engines used in Bombardier (Ski-Doo) Snowmobiles and it is conceivable that the thief(s) may try to use it or sell it in the snowmobile market.
Anyone having any information as to the culprits involved in this senseless act of vandalism, or anyone having any information as to the whereabouts of this stolen motor are asked to call Crimestoppers or the Whitehorse RCMP Detachment.

Sometime between the 25th and 27th of December, The fence at the Whitehorse Airport was cut. Three snowmobiles and one skimmer were stolen from NAV Canada. Two of the snowmobiles are described as being 1988 250cc Yamaha Bravo's black in color and the third being a red 1985 Yamaha snowmobile. The skimmer is described as being approximately 6ft. in length with a plywood floor while the body is constructed out of black steel with a rail around it. The deck of the skimmer is mounted on skis.

Stolen on 2002-11-19 at approximately 1600 hrs from a shop in the Horwoods Mall: a Dell Laptop Inspiron Pentium III.
